Well I decided to follow some live blogging from MacWorld. It’s still going on right now. But I wanted to take a hot second to rant.
The iPhone got a few new features announced, Google Maps with location features, webclips (saving website content to the home screen), SMS multiple people at once, lyrics, and standard DVD like functions (chapters languages, subtitles). All these features will be available FREE!
The iPod Touch also got some new apps! Mail, Google Maps, Stocks, Notes, & Weather! These new apps will be available on all new iPod Touches! All things already made for the iPhone, basically the same thing as the iPod Touch right? Shit it costs almost as much as an iPhone.
So the touch apps should be free too right? Especially since they have just been ported over from the iPhone. WRONG, we have to shell out $20 for features that probably should have been put there in the first place. Why is Apple doing this? Do they think that since there aren’t as many iPod Touch user’s out there as iPhone users we won’t mind getting shit on?
Well, I’m holding out and hoping that enough people complain that Apple shouldn’t give away some features to a nearly identical device, while making another one pay for something that really should have been there in the first place!
GRRRRR!

However I found Mac Rumors Live did a better job live blogging, however Gizmodo had better seats, thus better pictures.
Update (3:45pm est): The Internets are in an angry uproar over this. The apple discussion boards are down, and the 1.1.3 firmware for the iPod touch is no longer available to download. I’m hoping Apple is getting the point.
