How to add events from an ICAL feed into Outlook

ICAL is a standard way to export calendar events. If you’re using a Mac is really easy to import this feed, but Outlook 2003 on Windows XP doesn’t make it quite so easy.

To add an ICAL calendar with all events to a Outlook:

  1. Download the ICAL file, example: name.ics
  2. Go to your Outlook calendar.
  3. Click on File > Import and Export
  4. Highlight Import an iCalendar or vCalendar file (.vcs) select next.
  5. Locate the name.ics file on your hard drive and press OK.
  6. That’s it, you’re done.
