Well, I successfully made the switch to Vista. I'm going to post my experience with the whole process; however I will say that thus far I am very happy!

Not only does Microsoft have the lockdown as the defacto operating system for PC's. They expect us to shell out more money for a limited edition "signature" version of windows.
